“The coaching programme taught me some great techniques that will benefit me for many years to come. It also gave me confidence in myself. I ultimately learned that the secret to many of the challenges I face is technique.
If I use the right techniques when dealing with issues and people, I would find the answer within.
One of the biggest behavioural changes I have seen in myself since the Coaching sessions is my own coaching ability. I found myself mimicking my coach when I was dealing with my team. Prior to my personal Coaching sessions, I would have described my style as a ‘lead by example’ person. I would give my team the answers rather than empower them to make the call. More and more I see myself pushing back on giving the solution to my team and instead, pushing them to find the solution themselves. I think as time goes by this will allow me to stand back more and more from the detail, and tackle the more strategic issues as required by my role as a Director.
